This online service allows individuals to apply for a provisional driving licence, notify DVLA of changes of circumstances, and to view their record online. In the future, additional services and features may be added.
Registration and enrolment
You can register and enrol as a customer for this online service using this website.
The details you provide to register will be checked by third parties on behalf of DVLA for the purposes of verifying your identity. Some of these details will also be stored on DVLA systems to process your driving licence application. See the privacy statement for more information on this.
User ID and password
Your User ID and password will be used to verify your identity and to authenticate information you send. They will be held securely on the Government Gateway and will not be made available to Government Departments.
The Government Gateway uses the postal address registered on DVLA systems to send you confirmation of your User ID and password if you request it to be re-sent using this website. After the Gateway has sent this information, your address is deleted from the Government Gateway.
It is not currently possible to de-enrol from this service.
When registered, you can log on to this website using your User ID and password to access online services. Your encrypted User ID and password will be passed to the Government Gateway for authentication.
You must always keep your password safe and secret. You can change your password on this website or Government Gateway web pages.
If you forget your User ID, you can request it to be re-sent to you by post on this website. If you forget your password, you can request a replacement to be sent to you by post on this website. If you lose both your User ID and password, you will need to contact the helpdesk (details are provided on this website).
